Dr.
Derrick D. Payne is a fellow Memphian and former student-athlete of
Hamilton High School. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville
on a football scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science Degree
in 1993.
After graduating from Vanderbilt, he attended the University Of Tennessee
College Of Dentistry at Memphis where he received his Doctorate of Dental
Surgery in 2000. In 2000-2002, Dr. Payne completed a two year General
Practice Residency at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center at
Knoxville where he served as Chief Resident during 2001-2002 year.

In July 2002, Dr. Payne purchased the existing practice of Dr. Bobby
Collins.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee
Dental Association, Shelby County Dental Society, Memphis Dental Society
and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Dr. Payne is an active member of Middle Baptist Church (Whitehaven),
founder of the Alex L. Turner Scholarship Foundation, and co-founder
of the River City Promotional Gala. In his spare time, he enjoys spending
time with family, friends, and mentoring many of the country's youth.
